What to expect
The park is anchored by a lotus pond (best in summer when the flowers are out), a small open-air amphitheater used for community events, and enough shaded paths to make it a properly pleasant place to walk regardless of season. Locals use it for tai chi in the early morning, jogging throughout the day, and picnicking on weekends.
The evening bird spectacle
One thing most visitors don't expect: at dusk, thousands of crested mynas, along with egrets and other birds, come in to roost in the park's trees, filling the air with noise for about 20 minutes around sunset. It's a strange, slightly surreal urban wildlife moment and costs nothing to witness — just show up near a large tree cluster as the light starts to fade.
Pair a visit here with dinner nearby — the Da'an and Technology Building MRT areas around the park have a strong casual-dining scene, from noodle shops to specialty coffee, without the tourist markup of more central districts.
